Hello and Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. My name is Amelia Gillis. I am 29 years old and very passionate about my work in the mental health profession. I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2009 with a Bachelor's in Psychology. After graduation, I was unclear about my career path. After learning about who I was and how I could best service my community, I went back to school. While working a full time job as a teacher for Orange County, I completed my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Now two years post graduation I work as a clinical counselor assisting others. I work with a diverse population specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for those who have been affected by various impairments, such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, etc. I love, love, love what I have been purposed to do. I believe I was born for this. My task is to promote the welfare of my clients.
Outside of work, I support my local church and serve as a mentor working with youth to support their spiritual, social, emotional, and academic development. I enjoy reading, writing, painting, cooking, and spending time with my family. Enough about me... I hope to meet you and learn from you as we all are on this journey called life; growing daily.
